Process

I have taken pictures on a camera of a note pad which slowly screws up   in about 10 stages .  One image was the scrunched up ball on  a black back ground leaving it easy to move about which will be handy for when and if i make an animation of it being thrown or moving to a bin.

Pcad Idea

These are things i will need to create my  Banner

• Purchase PostIts
• Take pictures of the PostIts - Turning page, Screwing up into a ball in stages . Untouched.

The interactive side of this banner will be that you can , draw and colour in on the paper and that  when you click the corner or possibly the bin, The PostIts will  screw up or flip over as the mouse moves and then will go into the bin.

The way it will advertise the college is the word "plymouth college of art(PCA)" will be embroided or engraved into the paper its self so that   its constantly their, It could also be  scribbled onto the bottom of the page.

At the end after they have screwed up or finished drawing, it could take them to the pca prospectus or info page too encourage them to look through the courses.

This is a show of the different sizes of banners, that are used frequently . 

For my banner i will only need a small one and i think the most effective one would be one that go's down the side of the screen, because it grabs more attention and will be on display more then  ones located at the top or the bottom of the page.

Banner random pop up Button

MovieClip(root).dot.x=Math.random()*600
MovieClip(root).dot.y=Math.random()*250

This makes the Do randomly appear around the screen, within the area that its set too on the axis. this will allow be useful for creating something like , mini game, or just random occurring stuff.

Though this does not tie in with my idea at the moment but has bettered my understanding

banner idea

First idea
Something involving the Plymouth college of art title just loading in on the screen like a movie, and by clicking it, it will link you to the website to sign up or look at more information on courses.

Second idea
A notebook or post it that can be doodled on which will then scrunch up into a ball and be binned and take you to the college website page.

Third idea
Something involving pcat, which i have not looked into much

Banner game score code.

The Writeing in the blue is the code which makes the score text go up every time the dot is clicked.

This links to the score box, the "SCORE" is the writing in the box and the last bit is the link with the variable score.

Banner evaluations

This is a Banner I found when I was borrowing through the internet. it caught my eye not because I found it attractive or interesting but because of its annoying flashing which goes off every .5 of a second
I personally do not find this banner that effective because you don't really want to read the writing but you want to get away from it as fast as possible.
However if the text was read it would be suitable because it does get your attention and possibly shows what the website can do.

Over all I do not think it is very good a tall.
Bad points

• Annoying!, flashing red fast is extremely annoying
• in no way encourages you to read it
•  not very pretty or attractive
• you wont click it , you'll close the page to get away from it. 

Good points

• It catches your attention 

This is an advert banner for Virgin Media , to me it looks pretty standard has no wow factor about it but it shows what it wants you to know and use's the company colours which are faily recognisable. 

Good

• company colours
• clear company name 

Bad

• colours may be bland with some website colours 
• nothing draws you too it 
• no interactivity 
• boring. 

Over all i think its a banner, but not a very good one its a bit boring and nothing catch's your eye with it. 

This is a banner for game , which i think is effective the colours will stand out on most sites, its instantly recognisable so it will draw in the customers it wants, also its interactive it scrolls up and down as you move your mouse up and down on it . i also thing this advert may show weekly or monthly deals which would show it gets updated.

Good

• Colours stand out
• interactive
• clear display of what company it is
• draws in customers.
• contrasts with most websites colours. 

Bad

• company name could be displayed bigger 

Over all i think this banner is extremely effective, my bad point is probably one of my only faults I see in this , it ticks all the box's for me

This banner i think is quite a good banner , although its not flashy and fairly simple it still grabs your attention with the bold writing and money  really draw you to it. also because of the picture it makes it look more like a newspaper text, this also helps spark interest in people.

• Explains what it is
• Sums up what its about instantly.

Bad

• Looks cheep slightly tacky.
• Doesn't draw attention to it very effectively
